Prayer of Saint Peter Pius after Holy Communion.

Stay with me, Lord, because it is necessary that you be present, otherwise I will forget you. You know how easily I abandon you. Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and need your strength so that I do not fall so often. Stay with me, Lord, because you are my life and without you I am without zeal. Stay with me, Lord, because you are my light and without you I am in darkness. Stay with me, Lord, and show me your will. Stay with me, Lord, so that I may hear your voice and follow you. Stay with me, Lord, because I desire to love you very much and to be always in your company. Stay with me, Lord, if you want me to be faithful to you. Stay with me, Lord; although my soul is poor, I want it to be a place of comfort for you, a nest of love. Stay with me, Jesus, because evening is approaching and the day is drawing to a close; Life is passing by and death, judgment and eternity are approaching. I must renew my strength so that I do not stop on the journey, and for this I need You. Evening is approaching and death is coming; I fear the darkness, temptations, spiritual dryness, the cross and pain. How much I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile! Stay with me tonight, Jesus; in life with all its dangers, I need You. Grant that I may know You as Your disciples knew You in the breaking of bread, so that Eucharistic Holy Communion may become the light that dispels the darkness, the strength that sustains me and the only joy of my heart. Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death I want to remain united with You – if not through Holy Communion, then at least through grace and love. Stay with me, Lord, for I seek only You: Your love, Your grace, Your will, Your Heart, Your Spirit; I love You and ask for no other reward than to love You more and more. With a steadfast love I will love You with all my heart here on earth and I will love You perfectly for all eternity. Amen. – Prayer of Padre Pio after Holy Communion
